What is music for you?
Open Calls from the Music Day Organizers of the AISBL European Music Day Association
20 years anniversary in Rome, 15th in Athens… The celebration evolves, matures and gives the initiative to everyone to actively be part of it. Our dream remains the same: to unite people, to communicate and to freely express our emotions. All together! Something we all need.
How? The question is well known and the answer is one: with music! Music is the sound of our heart beating. Our journey into the world of sound emerged out of a single question. The question that we would like each one of you to answer: What is music for you?
Is it the nonverbal sound the singer makes? is it the cover of an album? A vibrating speaker? The music you play? A street party? A color? A painting? Words written on a wall? The lyrics of a song? How does music unites us all? Its a question that forces us for a sincere answer.
It is with this philosophy that many European networks have started spreading an interactive way to organize or to participate in the events. Belgian and Greek networks promotes the use of an interactive platform (called self service in Belgium and matchmaker in Greece) so that anyone can participate, organize or play. In the meantime, Italian, Czech and Hungarian networks are also preparing some special events.
2014 will also mark the beginning of a transcontinental collaboration between the European Music Day Association and the One Solstice Organization (one.solstice.com). The European Music Day will also be part of the agenda of the European Presidency in Greece on June 21st.
So, what is music for you?
